Garden And Gun December Issue

Garden and Gun's December Issue is one of my favorites yet.  They announced the winners for the Made In The South Awards, which I actually entered and as they put it........

"This year's winners prove that the best things made are made in Dixie."

Made in the South Awards
Although I did not win, I was beyond thrilled to see that our dear friend's at Ledbury were the runners up in Fashion.  How could I be sad about that.  Paul and Paul have done an amazing job with their line and we are so lucky to have Ledury in our backyard.  Truly the new store is incredible!

Ledbury; Richmond, VA

Under the tutelage of London’s premier shirtmakers, the duo behind the Richmond-based shirting company Ledbury acquired an eye for artisan talent. So it’s no surprise that when CEO and designer Paul Trible discovered Wiley Brothers belts through friends, their collaboration led to the first items in Ledbury’s new Commonwealth Collection. Each belt is made with English bridle leather and white bronze buckles. The collection of Virginia-made accessories will eventually include everything from cuff links to garment bags. $155; ledbury.com

G&G  also had Amazing article on my home town of Richmond! The article by Dean King can be found on page 80 under City Portraits and is titled "Back Home in Richmond; A New Currant Is Rising In the Capital Of The Old South.

State Capitol
Richmond once the Capital of the Confederacy is routed in Tradition and has some of the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen.  I was disappointed to find that this article is not online, but if you subscribe to G&G you must read it!  I am proud to Claim Richmond as my Home.

Great Edition!  It was a JOY to read!

Happy Birthday To Linger

It was so much fun celebrating one of my dearest friend's birthday's this past weekend.  She is truly a Holiday Baby and we made it a night to remember!

Is anything better than great company, hilarous conversation, and a night with your besties?

                               Happy Happy Birthday Darling!

Holiday Market

I hope everyone had a fabulous Turkey Day and enjoyed all the food!  It's so hard to believe that December will arrive this week.  It's also an exciting week because  I have another Holiday Market this Tuesday for The Junior League at Westwood Club.

If you live locally we would Love to see you!  It will be a fantastic evening!

Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite holidays!  Each year we head down to the beach on my in-laws property and have an Oyster Roast.

Mac is in charge of manning the Oyster Station and does a beautiful job.

My father in-law always wears his traditional kilt made out of Tartan in his family Pattern.  My husband's name is McCarrick and he is called Mac for short.

The Dogs have a ball on the River and Lucile can't get enough of the water no matter what the tempature is.

Here's a close up of the fam minus Leonard.  He's hard to track down.
In my usual fashion, a game of late night dress up always ensues.

What are your Thanksgiving Traditions?

The Nicole Debuts In Texas

I was so excited when I received this picture from Girlie of her debuting The Nicole in Texas!  Girlie has purchased several precious pieces this fall and I am so excited for Designs By Kara Kihm to spread to new states across the country!

Thanks for sharing Girlie!  It looks darling on you!

Cheers

Last weekend Mac and I were very excited to Celebrate the Sale of our old house 4505 Hanover Ave!

It was a wonderful first home and we made such dear friends on our block!

We went to Dinner at Edo Squid and then headed to the Commonwealth Club for cocktails.

We enjoyed sipping port and shared a lot of laughs!  I sported The Nicole in Navy and figured it was a great time to debut it in Richmond.

Even though we will miss living right across the street from this group, we are excited that we are still within walking distance and can see them often.

To A Wonderful Woman

It was wonderful to be down in Key West  two weeks ago and Celebrate the life of Mary Louise Taliaferro Wilson.  Grandma Tobby was an incredible lady who raised 8 children all over the world from Malta to Bahrain to Charleston to Key West.

She settled in Key West for the last forty years of her life and "was an icon of Key West Society."  Tobby didn't know a stranger and her house was the gathering spot for countless family reunions, parties and events. We will truly miss our time on Aster Terrace.

A beautiful ceremony was held in her back yard and she was laid to rest with her husband, KK in the canal in which she swam every day for 40 years in the backcountry of Key West.

The weather was gorgeous and it was such a meaningful week.  We stayed on the Caribe at The Key West Yacht Club

And even found some time go to the beach.

One thing is for sure, our trips to Key West will not be the same without Tobby Wilson and she will be dearly missed!

Pup Presents For X-mas

How Perfect that Tory Burch has doggie gear just in time for the Holidays!

Precious!  Last year Lucile got a Lilly Leash, maybe this year she needs one from Tory.  Leonard is Happy as long as he has bones!

Thanks to Summer Wind

I was recently catching up on Summer Wind's blog posts and came across her blog titled The Madee.  I was so flattered to find this post that I wanted to share. She has the most precious blog and I've been so honored to be featured on it a few times!  Here's the post!

"Well, I was reading her blog the other day and just about died over the Madee dress. Seriously, it's perfection in dress form.

{via}
Isn't it the PERFECT holiday dress? I love plaid, I love red around Christmas time, I love ruffles and full skirts... I really just love everything about this dress!
There is even a bow in the back to complete this perfect little dress. I loved it so much I knew I couldn't keep it to myself."

You must check out her adorable blog!  I am looking forward to reading many more posts!

Shop To Benefit Charity

During the Holiday season the Richmond Junior Leauge has had so many fun reasons to get out and shop!  Here is the latest!

"Kick-off your holiday shopping with music, refreshments & a classic shopping event at the NEW Ann Taylor at the Short Pump Town Center."

Ann Taylor will donate 5% of sales from 1 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, December 3rd.

Hope to see you all there!  I'm sad I missed Couture For a Cause due to funeral so I hope to make this event!

Make It Beautiful

I was so excited to have my booth at Madee's Market across from my best friend from college.  Priscilla's booth was "Make It Beautiful" and she made so many adorable accessories for the occasion.   She ended up having a great turn out and sold a ton!

Emily made the sign for Cil's booth and it was precious.
I loved that Cil had a picture of Madee at her booth.
Such adorable necklaces
The Roanoke College girls had a wonder time catching up.

I also LOVED that the booth included TuTu's made by  Ashley Ruleman.  Ashley makes precious TuTu's for all occasions including Birthdays, Team Colors, Gifts, or Just For Fun!!  Of course I had to buy two for Leonard and Lucile since I don't have kids.  They came in so many fun colors and had such fun themes!  I can't wait for the pups to wear them!

If you are interested in ordering a Tutu from Ashley you can email her at ashleyruleman@yahoo.com.

It was a ball being part of a holiday market with my dear friend! I hope we can all do it again in the future!

Dearly Missed

We are off to Key West for the week to spend time with family and friends to Celebrate the Life of Mary Louise Tallifero Wilson, better know as Grandma Tobby.   She was an Amazing Lady and will be Dearly Missed.
