The Sanctuary

My in-laws stayed at the Sanctuary this year while we were down in Kiawah and I have to say the food and service were unbelievable!

We enjoyed cocktail walks near the Ocean

And Reading on the Balcony

Mom and Mama Vick bonding

They had a great view of the Ocean from  their room

And My father in-law found his portrait in the Lobby.  Do you see the resemblance?

Finally the room service was out of this world! Food to die for!

If you're looking for a relaxing retreat in S.C. this is definitely a place to visit!

The Ocean Course

While in Kiawah we enjoyed an afternoon at The Ocean Course.  It's one of Mac's favorite courses to play.

We ate lunch at The Ryder Cup Bar and I had the most wonderful order of Fish Tacos

 We enjoyed walking the grounds

And Mac is really looking forward to watching the PGA Championship, which will be held there this year

It's definitely a great spot for some beautiful views and a yummy lunch!

Christmas In Kiawah

We had a wonderful time in Kiawah for Christmas this year.  Mac and I thought it was the Best Year yet!  We were so blessed to have his parents and mine for the fist time at Christmas this year.

Mom and I wore our matching Tartan Christmas Outfits from Designs By Kara Kihm

and We enjoyed opening Christmas presents with the pups

The Christmas Day Martini's were divine

And it was lovely to take sunset walks on the beach

One of my dear friends from College joined us for an evening

And we had a wonderful time sipping wine at the Sanctuary

I hope you all had fabulous holidays as well

December Highlights Continued

It's been a year since I've joined the Junior League in Richmond and it's been a wonderful experience.  I've met so many great friends and had some incredible experiences through the organization.  Last year at Christmas time a group of us decided to go to The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond to grab cocktails.

The tree in the Lobby is always unbelievably beautiful at Christmas

This year we toasted our one year anniversary as friends and decided to make it an annual tradition.

I look forward to many more years of Christmas Cocktails with you all!

December Highlights

I can not believe we are already into the New Year and I never had time to blog about December and the Holidays so I guess it will be fun to recap through a series of highlights.  One highlight in particular was celebrating with our dear friend the opening of her dad's new restaurant Pasture, which I blogged about earlier.  After all of the Festivities at Pasture we headed to The Commonwealth Club with Meg to have an after event cocktail. The Commonwealth club was decorated so beautifully for the holidays

And we really enjoyed sitting by the fire

We toasted to the opening of Pasture and enjoyed some QT

It was a lovely evening and I am so excited for a great new restaurant in town

Holiday Market In Richmond

I had the most wonderful time being a part of the Junior League Holiday Market in Richmond.  West Wood was decorated so beautifully for the Holidays

And I had ironed out the kinks from my booth at the first Holiday Market in Staunton

My dear friends came to show support and we enjoyed sipping wine as we shopped

KK and MM

Meg, ACF, and AD

It was a Wonderful Evening and I am looking forward to debuting more designs in the New Year!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and Happy New Year.  I'm excited to blog about our December in the coming weeks.  Our New Year was uneventful, but very enjoyable.  I have actually been sick so Mac and I stayed in and grilled.  This was the first New Year I can remember not even having wine with dinner.  We had a lovely dinner and were in bed by 10pm.  If this is how we act in our 30's, I'm nervous for our elder years-Ha Ha!

Steak with melted Blue cheese, grilled onions and broccoli

Greek salad

After a relaxing evening in, we headed to my in-laws for New Years Day.

It was wonderful to spend New Years Day on The River with the dogs

And my mother in law performed her yearly ritual of jumping in the River

It truly does cleanse the soul

I hope all of your New Year Wishes Come True!
