Touring The Islands

One of our favorite Day Activites was taking Con Pollo and touring the local islands in the Exumas.

We lost Con Pollo in a Storm and were very attached to her after the retrival!  Unfortunately, Mac had to dive into the Ocean (literally) and swim out to her during a driving wind and rain storm to tie her back to the Caribe.  While attempting to get back on the Caribe a wave crashed in and crushed him between the two boats.  I have never been sooo horrified in my entire life and his body and head are still healing from the accident.  Good thing an RN was aboard the Mariah.  I am glad we saved Con Pollo though otherwise we would not have seen these highlights!

Chat N Chill on stocking Island is a must if you are ever down that way!

Very Fun bar and conch covered beach at Farmers Cay Yacht Club.

Regatta Park in George Town.  The Regatta is a huge event in The Exumas held annually!

The Sea Pigs at Staniel Cay.  They literally swam out to the boats and were hilarious!  I'm very quirky and have always wanted a pig.  I told Mac that if we don't have a child in the next 2 years, we are adopting a pig!

Staniel Cay Yacht Club was the most fun place!  It was such an islandy Yacht Club.  Right up my alley!  Here are some cool places in Staniel Cay!

  Accommodations at the Yacht Club.

My favorite Grocery Store called the Pink  Pearl.

Who wouldn't want to eat here.

I am very grateful we saved Con Pollo for the Island Experiences, but I could have done without the Drama!

There are too many favorite pics to share so I will recap my fav pics tomorrow.   The last night we saw a shooting star.  I had never seen one before and it was truly magical!

New Love Of Snorkeling

There were sooooo many highlights from our trip, but one of my favorite things was snorkeling every day!  I felt like I got an incredible work out and got to see fabulous aquatic life!

Of course I had pink fins.

This was my favorite find!

We snorkeled through Thunderball Cave where the 1964 James Bond Movie was filmed and it was incredible.

Inside of Thunderball Cave and some of the sea life.

This picture represents one of the scariest moments on my trip.  On the way from the boat to land-which believe me was a very far distance (notice the boat in the background) I saw a shark!  I literally almost had a heart attack in the water.  Getting up the nerve to swim back was not easy.

And From then on------- I swam with this!!!!!

I'm totally hooked!  Maybe Scuba Diving is Next!

Fitting Quote

After returning from a great vaca I was excited to get back to business until I had an awful and frustarting moment today.  I discovered that one of my seamstresses took my money and ran!   I am out 4 dresses, fabric, and hundreds of dollars so I am trying very hard to find peace in my mind right now.  During my deep breathing exercises I came across this quote!

Never be afraid to try something new.  Remember that amateurs built the arc and professional built the titanic.
~ Dave Barry, humorist columnist

It seemed very fitting!  Hopefully I will continue to learn, grow, and curb my business from experiences like today!  I can't expect that there will not be bumps along the way when venturing down a new path,  But that was not a fun way to learn!  I completely believe in Karma so I will keep smiling and try to put this behind me!

Home From The Exumas

THE CARIBE

And THE MARIAH

Left their home at The Key West Yacht Club to sail through the Caribbean for the Summer.

Mac and I were excited to travel down and meet Uncle Mike and his buddies in the Exumas.

Since Uncle Mike served as Commodore of the Key West Yacht Club he had reciprocity at different Yacht Clubs throughout the islands; however, there were several nights we anchored out at sea.  I may have found a bigger fear than flying..........Being in the middle of the Ocean during driving wind and rain storms! Ahhhhhhh!  It was a wonderful trip and I will blog more about it through out the week to come!  I'm very glad to be back on land and feel like I am still rocking from the waves!

Bella Bridesmaid in Richmond is hosting a trunk show Friday July 15th from 5pm-8pm. Designs By Kara Kihm and Kendra Scott Jewelry will be featured. Come by to enjoy some wine and goodies.

Can't wait to see you all there :)

Sailing Adventure on The Caribe

My husband's family grew up in Key West and the majority of them continue to reside down in the keys.  They are a very fun adventurous family who love the water and boating.  This weekend Uncle Mike will sail from Key West to the Bahamas on The Caribe,  his beloved boat.   Mac and I were thrilled to get an invitation and are excited for the adventures to come.   The Exuma's are our destination.  Although I grew up boating it's been a long time since I have actually stayed on a boat for over a week.  I better get my sea legs ready!

Have a fabulous 4th (it's one of my favorite Holidays) and I'm sure I'll have lots to blog about after our return.
